With just a month left to go for 2014, we at Hmoodle present you Sunshine Lee, our December Hmoodle Beauty. She is currently in her very first year of college majoring in biology due to her fascination with cells. She enjoys the great designers such as Sherri Hill, Chong Cha, and Vam Muas. She loves to be noticed and to make others laugh. Some of her favorite foods are noodle dishes, such as ramen, pho, vermicelli, and udon. We at Hmoodle really do hope you enjoy this wonderful interview with Sunshine and without further delay let’s go into it!
Hmoodle: Hello Sunshine, how are you doing? We want to thank you for being here with us today.
Sunshine: Hello Hmoodle, I am doing extremely well and thank you for the opportunity of having me here today.
Hmoodle: Before we get started, can you briefly give us what is like being Sunshine?
Sunshine: Hmmm, What it is like being “Sunshine” well I am a very outspoken person. I enjoy speaking my mind and letting others know how I feel whether they like it or not. Being “Sunshine” also means smiling a lot and an addition to talking; being noticed and making others laugh. Something else about being “Sunshine” is that I get a handful of people who questions if my name is my legal or nick name. So, of course I confirm it with them by saying that it is my legal name with some sort of proof. Being me means I have a pleasure in making new friends, being open minded, and just appreciate life.
Hmoodle: Are you currently in college? If so, how do you like it? Do you miss high school?
Sunshine: Yes, I am currently in college as a first year. College, in my opinion is quite similar to high school. Why, because all I do is attend class and turn in my work on time with my best effort. Although there is a slight difference, because I get to choose my classes and what time to take them so I feel like I have the power over my education. Oh! Not to mention when classes are cancelled, that is something I love about college. Now as for high school, I do not miss it at all I have my reasons why and it was a huge roller coaster for the past four years.
Hmoodle: What are you majoring in? What interested you in that field?
Sunshine: I am majoring in Biology; what interested me in this field is how amazing cells can create amazing creatures. Especially a creature within a creature, pregnancy, it is filled with such excitement and questions to be answered.
Hmoodle: You stated that you love being on the runway and in front of the camera, when was your recent runway show or have done any in the past?
Sunshine: Sadly I have not done a recent runway show but the last one I participated in was the HMF of 2013 since the 2014 did not happen.
Hmoodle: What is the meaning of style to you?
Sunshine: Style means I can be anyone I want to be that day, it just depends on what “style” I would like to be in.
Hmoodle: Comfort or beauty, what comes first?
Sunshine: Comfort, because you do not always have to suffer to look decent or sophisticated.
Hmoodle: What are your favorite designers? (This could be upcoming Hmong designers and the main stream as well)
Sunshine: My favorite designers are Sherri Hill, Chong Cha, and Vam Muas.
Hmoodle: We heard you love to sing and dance, tell us how you came to love music and dances?
Sunshine: As a young girl, I grew up in a household where my sisters were traditional dancers and they went to many competitions each year. My mother also loves to sing, whenever her favorite Hmong song comes on or she just feels like she just sings her heart out. Basically, I grew up into music and dancing.
Hmoodle: Have you ever consider pursuing the entertainment business or this is something you do as a hobby?
Sunshine: I have considered in pursuing in the entertainment business, but I would like to fall back on something solid if this dream of mine does not come true. So, as for right now it is a hobby of mine.
Hmoodle: You know we all love scrumptious foods. What’s your favorite dish, whether is dining out or at home?
Sunshine: I do not have a favorite dish, there is so much delicious food out there. If I must say one dish, it’s any noodle dish from ramen, pho, vermicelli, cellophane (glass) noodles, udon, and any other noodle dishes in the world.
Hmoodle: Do you cook at home and how often?
Sunshine: Yes, I do cook at home, but sadly I do not cook too often.
Hmoodle: What inspires you to do well in life?
Sunshine: What inspires me to do good in life is the thought of how I want to live in the future. Do I want to struggle or live a stress-free life, so to get there I must work my butt off until I live the life I want.
Hmoodle: What do you hope to accomplish in 5 years from now?
Sunshine: Five years from now, I would like to have accomplish my years in college and receive my B.S. then continue on to my masters in grad school.
Hmoodle: Anything else you’d like to say? Shout-out?
I would like to thank you, Hmoodle, for interviewing me today and giving me the opportunity of being a part of what you guys do. I also would like to thank my family, for they have been with me through thick and thin. They were always there to pick me up when I was at my lowest point and I appreciate how supportive they are with my choice when I decided to be a part of the entertainment community. Without them, I do not think I would have ever felt the confidence I have today. Last but not least are my friends, those who I have befriended with for years and those for just weeks since school started. They are amazing people who makes me laugh every day and they are who I smile with; because of them I get through my boring days and of course annoy the hell out of them. Oh! And I must not forget the Hmoodle audience, thank you for taking your time to view this and getting to know a part of me. If you would like to be a part of my journey as I mature or just to see more of me, you can follow my instagram which is Sunshine Lee. And again thank you for viewing hope to see you all around!
She really does have an extremely wonderful and fascinating life. We hope she reaches all of her goals that she stated in the interview such as getting her B.S and her masters in the next 5 years. We look forward to seeing more of her in the very near future. We hope that all of you readers out there really enjoyed it as much as we did.
