One of the great luxuries of the Hot Import Night weekend is the abundance of parties that are being thrown. There were plenty of places to go and have yourself a good time. You can even check out an import model or two. The only problem is, deciding which party to go to.
On Friday night, Hmoodle headed out to the premiere Hot Import Night Pre Party which was at Epic Night Club in Minneapolis hosted by Trilogy and Chozen One Productions. If you didn’t see this flier and know this event was happening, then you must be living under a rock, because Trilogy and Chozen One definitely do a great job of getting the word out.
Once again Epic was packed full of people ready to get their weekend started. Chi-Town’s C.R.B. and Papi Love were there to provide the party goers with the perfect blend of today’s hip hop and Top 40 to insure a good vibe on the dance floor. The ladies seemed to flood the dance floor the whole evening, which is nice for the fellas.
I was finally able to check out the new outdoor patio that Epic had constructed and it’s pretty awesome. It’s huge! It was from this patio that I could see the line assembled outside and knew that the party was going to rock. The line was about a block long with people who wanted to get into Epic knowing full well that this was the place to be.
It seemed to me that everyone was having a good time. How could they not? You had lots of people, good music, good drinks, and import models. A perfect cocktail! The Chozen One/ Trilogy partnership never seems to disappoint when it comes to their parties.
Once again, I want to thank May and Robb from Chozen One, as well as Linda and Tee from Trilogy for allowing us to be apart of their event. I also want to thank Epic Night Club. Without their cooperation, these pieces wouldn’t be possible.
On October 18th, be sure to head back to Epic as Chozen One and Trilogy present “Forbidden Dreams” Should be a good one! Ladies be sure to wear your lingerie!!
The weekend of partying didn’t end there. Hmoodle headed out to the Hot Import Night itself to check out what the HIN had to offer. Besides checking out cars and models, there were performers on the Boost Mobile stage.
Two of the six performances really stood out for me. Rapper Casadon of Minneapolis really helped with getting the party going by the main stage. The performers prior to him were a let down and he was able to show that there was actually talent at the Hot Import Nights. I liked that he wasn’t screaming into the mike, but actually rapping with an understandable delivery. He has album that is dropping in 2009 and you can find him on Myspace (myspace.com/casadon) where you can check out his music.
The second group that was actually worth listening to was the group City Wide Kin. Yes, I know, they are good friends of ours, but I am being honest when I write about them. They wouldn’t have it any other way. When the guys came out and performed their first song about living in Minnesota, the very diverse crowd seemed to really get into it. I love watching how the guys dance around the stage and pass the mike back and forth. My favorite part of the song is when Sampson delivers the M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A. He’s got a real distinct delivery and you can always tell when he’s on the mike. CWK once again delivered as they continue to make their name know throughout the Twin Cities area.
There was lots of hype for the post HIN party at Envy Night Club in Minneapolis. After the Pre party and walking around HIN, we at Hmoodle were pretty tired, so we headed back to Saint Paul. During the ride we were looking through all the fliers we had received and noticed that Hmong Hotties was throwing a party at Lucy’s aka the Moonlight Lounge. One of our future Hmoodle models was being featured there, so we made our way over to Lucy’s.
We weren’t expecting much, but there was a decent crowd there. They all must have started drinking early because they were pretty rowdy. Dancing on chairs, stage, everywhere and anywhere—they were having themselves a good time.
The Hmong Hotties party provided three of their very own hotties as go-go dancers throughout the night. One of them, Mang Xiong will be featured on Hmoodle in the near future. The men at Lucy’s really got into their dancing as flash bulbs were everywhere and guys had their phones out as the crept up to the stage to get a good shot of the sexy ladies. Some guys were even throwing money at the ladies, which I am not sure is a compliment to them.
We packed in pretty early as we were exhausted from the long weekend, but we did have a good time at this party. I want to thank Mang for the impromptu photo shot we had. You truly are a professional.
What a wild weekend that was. It was truly a fun experience overall and I look forward to next year’s HIN Weekend. Thanks for everyone for their hospitality.
