A St. Paul man was charged with attempted murder Monday, May 20, accused of choking a relative to unconsciousness and cutting her several times with a knife.
Responding officers found the 27-year-old victim on a curb on East Maryland Avenue, near White Bear Avenue, about 1:35 a.m. Friday, in the fetal position with blood covering her face, neck and chest. Her eyes were swollen shut and bruised. The woman was naked from the waist down and her white camisole was ripped and blood-soaked.
The woman had severe cuts to her chest, neck, wrist and shoulder. She mumbled that a relative, Paul Lee, 23, assaulted her in her home and she believed he’d raped her with an unknown object, according to the criminal complaint.
