Hmoodle readers are casting their votes for last year’s Hmoodle Girl of the Year, but now its time once again to begin a new cycle of beautiful and intriguing girls. We start this year off with one of California’s finest, Pahnna Xiong.
Pahnna Xiong is an experienced model, but has finds her true passion in books. Not only reading them, but the dream to be the one penning a romantic novel of her own. Definitely a first for one of our Hmoodle Girls.
I had the opportunity to talk to this very interesting and humorous young lady earlier this month. This is the outcome of that interview. Enjoy!
Hmoodle: I’m here with our latest Hmoodle Girl, Pahnna Jenieve Xiong. Let me be the first to congratulate you on being selected.
Pahnna: I just want to say Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! And oh my gosh and thank you thank you thank you for giving me this fun opportunity!
Hmoodle: Before we get started, why don’t you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?
Pahnna: Everyone calls me Pahnna but my real name is Paj Naj (flower rain) and Ab Nyiaj (baby silver) Pahnna is for those who can’t pronounce Paj Naj LOL laughs. I’ve turned twenty-one two times and this year would be my third time. My mama is Hmong and my daddy is Laotian and yes that makes me half and half. I’m the youngest, with four brothers and three amazing sisters. That probably explains why I’m still such a baby at heart and believe me it benefits to be the youngest. I have two doggies, Kiwi and Cinnamon (my nephew chose the name Cinnamon and I don’t know why) laughs. I live, love, laugh, and eat. I will be attending cosmetology school in the summer took me four years to finally realize that I should’ve done what I love most right after high school.
Hmoodle: How have you been enjoying the great weather we’ve been having?
Pahnna: You know Fresno doesn’t seem to make up its mind! It’s extremely hot one day then freezing cold the following day. So, I guess that’s some pretty great weather laughs. I love whatever God brings. I’m just Thankful I’m alive to get to enjoy it.
Hmoodle: How did you first get started modeling?
Pahnna: I do little modeling/fashion shows/promotional gigs here and there but I wouldn’t call myself a model because I’m not even close to being one. I only do it to have fun. It’s really nothing serious for me. So how did I get started? By meeting a few fabulous photographers and getting the opportunity to be a part of their growing portfolio.
Hmoodle: What makes you want to pursue modeling as a career?
Pahnna: I’m not pursuing a career in modeling, I only do it for fun. My heart lies with make-up, hair, fashion designing and writing. I hope to be a romance novelist one day and it will happen, so get use to my name.
Hmoodle: Do you have a favorite model or actress that inspires you? Why?
Pahnna: I have a few favorite actresses and models, but none of them inspire me. My greatest inspirations in my life are the women that raised me, my mama See, My second mama/sister Jade and my third mama/sister Mia. All I have to say is that the reason why I know how to live, laugh, and laugh is because of them. It’s like they all came to an agreement to split me into three pieces and each of them took care of one, so without them I wouldn’t be whole. I’m so fortunate to have such beautiful loving women in my life and my mama is a boss!
Hmoodle: Who are some of your favorite fashion trendsetters?
Pahnna: laughs I don’t have one. I wear whatever fits my figure and what compliments my look the best. I am my own fashion trend setter
Hmoodle: Besides modeling, what else do you enjoy?
Pahnna: Besides that little hobby, I enjoy reading! Give me a love story and I’ll get lost for hours! If anyone of you goes second hand shopping you’ll always find me in the book area. I also have this insane passion for Ancient Egyptian History I enjoy learning about it so much! I also enjoy cooking, I make the best Cup a Noodles! laughs I’m just joking. I really am a pretty great cook. I also enjoy eating, doing make-up, designing, re-altering my clothes and accessories and putting together little outfits.
Hmoodle: What would something that our readers would be surprised to find out about you?
Pahnna: Actually a lot of people find it surprising that I read. I take it kind of offensive but it’s okay, that’s why you never judge a book by its cover. “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren is by far the best book I’ve ever read! I highly recommend it! Judith McNaught is still my favorite author, I love love love “Something Wonderful” and “Whitney My Love” by McNaught. “Jane Eyre” “The Notebook” and “The Other Boleyn Girl” are some of my other faves. One more thing is that I’m like border line OCD laughs and I will not tell anyone the weird little rituals I do because it’s too embarrassing.
Hmoodle: Name a movie or song that best describes you? Why?
Pahnna: The little Mermaid! Because I’m a mermaid, duh! laughs Of course I will never trade off my fins for a pair of legs to try to marry a handsome stranger, but I am the youngest, I’m a dreamer and a hopeless romantic exactly like Ariel! I don’t listen sometimes and I can make the craziest choices to get what I want even if i know it’ll hurt. You know how she was late to that music concert? Well I’m always late everywhere I go (laughing) A lot of songs describe me and it also really depends on the mood I’m in. Right now I can’t stop listening to Matt Redman, Ten Thousand Reasons. It’s a Christian song and it has to do with my walk right now with God and believe me it’s a struggle but its a relationship worth fighting for (smiling).
Hmoodle: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Pahnna: Not married, I think I’m going to be single forever. laughs I should have finished writing at least one romance novel and A career in cosmetology and fashion designing. I know I will not be in Fresno in five years (fingers crossed).
Hmoodle: Anything that you are involved in that you would like to share?
Pahnna: I’ve been involved in a few fun fashion shows and photography shoots. Right now I’m in a fun promotional team called Ninja Girlz so well see where that goes (laughing).
Hmoodle: Well, we wish you the best of luck with that. Do you have any last words for our readers?
Pahnna: I want to leave everyone with two of my most favorite quotes “Love is Patient, Love is Kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and in todays society being beautiful is based more on physical features but I believe Beauty is defined by ones character.
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the lord is to be praised.” -Proverbs 31:30
Once again, I want to congratulate Pahnna on being selected as our first Hmoodle Girl of this cycle. We at Hmoodle want to wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors and look forward to seeing her on the New York Times Best Seller’s list.
