A St. Paul woman has admitted in court she told her husband she would kill him and their children.
Mai Neng Xiong, 39, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court to one count of terroristic threats. She is expected to receive a sentence April 12 of time already served in jail.
In response to questions by prosecutor Margaret Galvin, she said she and her husband were in a car in the Kmart parking lot in St. Paul on Dec. 18 when they began to argue about money.
“I said to him that I was going to kill the children and kill him,” she said. She also admitted she tried to set newspapers on fire in the car.
Mai Neng Xiong said the couple married in the Hmong culture, “but he never loved me.”
She will remain incarcerated until sentencing.
Mai Neng Xiong also was convicted of malicious punishment of a child after a Nov. 9 incident in which she used a wrench to rip the ear of her 7-year-old daughter. She was sentenced to time served in that case.
