On behalf of the Hmong Human Rights committee of the Hmong American Student Association (HASA) at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, we would like to invite you to our Hmong Human Rights Awareness Night on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 6pm-9:3pm at Memorial Union, UW-Madison (800 Langdon St, Madison, WI 53706).
Through music, dance and visual media, we seek to address the Hmong humanitarian crisis in Thailand and Laos. Artists across the country are rallying together in support of human rights.
5000 Hmong refugees have been deported from Thailand to Laos against international humanitarian law at the end of last year. Of the refugees, 158 have UNHCR political refugee status to be resettled in third countries. There is no transparency and no unfettered access to the resettled Hmong.
Come to be inspired, educate yourself, and inform others about what you can do about the situation!
We realize that this request may not be possible and we understand if Hmoodle cannot link this video in our featured video tabs.
